The Bocci Series 21 is designed by Canadian architect Omer Arbel. It results from a fabrication process in which thin porcelain sheets are draped over an inverted diffuser made of sandblasted borosilicate glass. The thin porcelain skin is allowed to dress the borosilicate core in whatever form occurs naturally, creating a unique shape. These low-voltage lamps are designed to be clustered in groups. Available with 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 14, 21, 26 or 36 randomly positioned porcelain pendants or with 19, 37 or 61 columnar positioned porcelain pendants.
21.1, 21.3, 21.5 and 21.7 have a canopy that uses strain relief connections, which allow the pendant lengths to be adjusted on site.
All the other sets from series 21 use headphone jack connections, which allow the pendants to be 'plugged into' the canopy for fast and easy installation. Pendant lengths are pre-set during production and are not site adjustable. Shortest and longest lengths can be specified when ordering.
