Jan J.M.Hoogervorst’s career started with painting copies of furniture catalogs. This way he ended up in the world of design. Soon he started to design furniture and lighting and annualy thought out a new lighting collection for ANVIA. Jan Hoogervorst was one of the biggest mid-century designers of the Netherlands. A true artisan with an excellent sense of proportion, but also a strong Calvinist who likes functional design in its purest form. He is sometimes even called the crown prince of the Italian design king Gino Sarfatti.
