LIVE EVENT + EXPO
THE VIBE OF TRUE CRAFTMANSHIP: EMDAL STUDIO + ALPH'
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 16TH AT THE I/OBJECT SHOP IN GHENT- BELGIUM
E M D A L S T U D I O
Knitting and weaving come together as a little family in the hands of Signe Emdal when she is building tapestries and textiles with a "language beyond words" and a sense of sound and heartbeat. Currently Emdal Studio collaborates with the dutch Textiel Lab in Tilburg Holland with access to large-scale digital textile machinery.
Signe will show her INNER GARDEN TAPESTRTY WALLS at I/OBJECT. Her works are based on the principle of JACQUARD, which means: to merge layers of ideas and interpretations into textiles, through a careful proces of experiencing yarns like paint and colors like energy. The INNER DIAMOND & ASTRID ROSE TAPESTRIES will also be shown during the expo. As a suprise Signe will bring some framed textile works made especially for the exposition.
I am completely obsessed with ancient symbolic value of gardens and gardening through history. INNER GARDEN is describing the utmost precious part of psyche, the very heart of the body.
A L P H '
Ghent based architect PHILIPPE ALLAEYS has been working for over 30 years as an architect and interior designer. His work is an ode to true craftmanship: 100% handmade out of carefully selected pieces of wood. Philippe also designs tables, beds and cabinets for Germand brand E15 and MOCA and more. His own furniture line is better known as ALPH' wood based furniture. Code words are pure, simple and poetic.
Philippe will show the TABLE TREE, a long table that can be devided into 4 pieces and placed in many different ways. The nicely shaped OENI stools will also be part of the expo.
